Revamping the Blog

So its been a  year and half since I have updated the blog. Life has been crazy and a ton of things have happened. I became an aunt again twice. I now have a nephew and two nieces, who are the cutest kid you ever did see. From spending time with them and working. I have not had much time to write updates. Although, I did continue to accomplish some things on the LIST. See the old list below and the things I completed.

In re-vamping the blog I will be streamlining the original list and adding in some new items. The list will be shorter, this way I will be able to write about each thing I do. Plus, add any additional posts on other adventures not listed. The list will no longer be a year to year list. It will be a revolving list over the course of several years. This way I will have more time to execute each item.

For the rest of this year I have some exciting things planned.

1. Travel to Germany in September
2. Visit New York during Christmas time.
3. Continue to work on Cakie’s Cookies and have a commercial site by end of the year.

Becoming well versed at French

So I have embarked upon learning another language. The language I have chosen is French. This is number 18 on the list. So fare things are going tremendously. I was hesitant about purchasing Rosetta Stone, due to the price and all. So I spoke to my cousin who is also learning a language on what materials she is using. Boy am I glad I spoke to her. I was able to save hundreds of dollars by downloading the app. that she uses on my cell phone and ipad.
So far the lessons are great. They start off with the basics and you work your way up to more difficult exercises. In the program they have you translate from English to French and vice versa. They have picture learning as well as audio lessons. Where you have to speak the phrases into your phone. Although, the best part about learning French this way is I can complete a lesson any ware at anytime. Whether it be at the airport, in line at the grocery store, waiting in car pool lane to pick up the kids, I am always plugged in. ( Just a side note I don't have any kids, but thought it would be great time to do some exercises if you do.)
All an all the application is great and plan on setting my mom up to learn Spanish. So by now you are probably wondering what app it is. Well, here you have it its Duolingo. Its the best, give it a try and leave a comment below and tell me what you think!

Jusqu'a` la prochaine fois! (until next time)

So I have started training for the color run 5K on my list. I have been running off and on my whole life. Although, in the last couple of months I have not been doing much running. I am currently at 41 min. for 3 miles. I plan on increasing my speed to cut down my time. I would like to complete the race in 30 min. So I think this is totally do able by next month. I will keep everyone posted on my progress and will update the blog with after pictures in my very colorfull out fit!

A New Year

So here I am on the Eve of another New Year. I am looking forward to all the new experiences that 2014 will bring. I know there will be some challenges, but I am ready for them. They will just continue to make me a stronger person and stretch me to new heights.  I have updated my list with some new adventures as well as some that were not quit accomplished in previous years. Its a melting pot of excitement and motivation to not just let life pass by with out fulfilling all of my passions.
I will be kicking off the New Year with family and friends and getting everything written down on the new calendar. Some of the things I can't wait to do are of course go to Germany with close friends. To submerge myself in anther new culture. I am looking forward to being an Aunt again for the second time to a niece. Plus, going back to school. These are just a few of the great things that 2014 already has to offer and it has not even started yet.
Well, with all that being said. Get out of your bubble, box, wheel house, or whatever you would like to call it. Go out and live in this beautiful and amazing world. I know I am.

Reducing my SUGAR intake, slow and steady wins the race.

#4 Reduce Sugar Intake
I started reducing my sugar intake on Saturday January 7th. I started by cutting it out completely. I know pretty drastic right. But go Big or Go home. Cold turkey. Anyway you get the point. I started back on the strict Paleo diet. I have done this before. It is definitely not a diet, but a life style change. So fare so good. I will keep everyone updated and post pictures of all the cool stuff I eat.

Also I kicked this off on Saturday, because then when it comes time to run that 10K I will be ready! Until next time You Are What You Eat.
